Shani was a founding member and principal of the public-sector search practice at Penna Executive Search. Later, as Head of Executive Search, she built and led the executive search business at another large diversity-focused executive recruitment business. Her experience has focused on recruiting senior executives within the public sector, as well as designing talent acquisition strategies and talent management programmes that drive better diversity outcomes.
Shani’s experience includes recruiting Board-level roles across all functional areas at the Department of Health & Social Care, Home Office, Department for Media, Sports & Culture, Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Department for Transport, HS2, Associated British Ports, Highways England, a number of NHS trusts, health and social care and disability focused charities including Leonard Cheshire, RNIB, Macmillan Cancer Support, Stroke Association and the British Red Cross among many others. Shani sits on the race advisory board at Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO).
He started his executive recruitment career with PricewaterhouseCoopers Search and Selection in 2001. Following the sale of this part of the business to Capita, the company rebranded as Veredus Resourcing, where he was promoted to Managing Consultant. His next move was to KPMG Search and Selection before being headhunted to join Rockpools to set up and lead the education practice. After five years with Rockpools, he set up Bloomsbury Resourcing in 2010 and worked with clients across the public and not-for-profit sectors. He joined Cadence Partners in 2020. He is also a Vice-Chair of Governors at Mossbourne Community Academy in Hackney and an external Trustee for Greenwich University Students’ Union.
Emma graduated from the University of Leeds, before undertaking a PGCE at Homerton College, University of Cambridge. She began her career working for the University of London Careers Services (now the Careers Group, University of London), before working for the Social Care Institute for Excellence where she gained a strong understanding of issues around equality and diversity.
Emma has a lifelong passion for human rights and in her spare time loves escaping into the mountains.
Alex is very committed to social justice, on a personal and professional level, and he brings a significant track record in charities in pursuit of poverty alleviation, on a national and international level. These include Depaul, Power to Change, Coin Street Community Builders, Scope, Mencap and many more. He brings a significant track record at Non-Executive level across sectors. These include the Chairs of; The Energy Savings Trust, Wilton Park and, most recently The Academies Enterprise Trust.
She is a qualified therapist, experienced group facilitator and coach and has provided training, supervision & support to a range of individuals and organisations both within the private and public sector. She is currently Project Director for Re:Purpose, an initiative sponsored by Cadence Partners which matches senior, board level professionals with small, predominantly BAME led or BAME community focused providers disproportionally impacted by COVID 19.
She is accredited to use a wide range of psychometric tools including WAVE, OPQ 32, Firo-B, Hogan Development Systems, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strengthscope, NEO P-IR, the Talent Q suite, the Leadership Judgement Indicator, the Decision-making & Self-regulation Assessor (DASA), Emotions & Behaviours at Work (EBW), a tool measuring Emotional Intelligence in leadership, ‘Engage’, which measures change-readiness, and ‘Implicitly’ which measures Unconscious Bias.
Angela is also adept at behavioural assessments using business simulations such as role plays and group activities, and she can operate across diverse assessment settings like recruitment, career management, and team-profiling.
Following her first degree, Angela successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance, and an MSc in Strategic Learning and Development (Distinction). She holds Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing (Levels A and B). Her assessment expertise is enhanced by the fact that she is a qualified executive coach (Institute of Leadership & Management).
Recent public sector clients include the Book Trust, UK Borderforce, Care Quality Commission, the Dogs Trust, Imperial College, the Stroke Association, Tower Hamlets Homes, and the RSPCA. Recent private sector clients include AXA, the BBC, Daikin South Africa, Drax, GlaxoSmithKline, John Lewis plc, Linklaters, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and National Farmers Union Mutual.
Isabel supported the Global Head of D&I of a global financial services group and coordinated the roll out of several HR initiatives on employee engagement and learning and development. She holds an MSc in Human Resource Management from Birkbeck, University of London and she is in the process of completing an MBA at Nottingham University. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Amongst other accomplishments, he delivered the organisational design & governance for the set-up of the London 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority and as Director of HR & Recruitment he oversaw all talent acquisition – all of which culminated in the successful delivery of the 2012 Olympic Games.
He has extensive experience operating within senior interim Organisational Effectiveness, Transformation and Change roles and has experience working directly to CEOs, MDs and Exec Boards. He has designed and implemented holistic transformation frameworks to carry out organisational diagnostics and ‘fit for purpose’ reviews. He has led on organisation structure change, project delivery and the development of Employee Value Propositions.
In addition, Andy has developed and implemented an overall cultural change programme – ‘Good to Great’ – which is, to date, still regarded as one of the most innovative and effective cultural change programmes in the transport sector.
He is a qualified executive coach and brings insight and extensive experience in behavioural change management, culture change, employee engagement and communications to ensure successful implementation of transformation and change programmes.
Robert is also in the process of completing a CIPD Human Resources Management diploma which is further enabling him to understand organisational systems and identify ways in which he can contribute to the agenda of dismantling barriers that are preventing a greater diversity of talent at leadership level.
Marcia uses her recruitment skills to volunteer for the Blockchain & Climate Institute, a not for profit organisation, which focuses on using technology to tackle climate change.
Andrei also led on and contributed to a number of research publications including Charities: Inclusive Governance 2018, The 100 Most Influential Women in Engineering and Inclusive Impact 2019 – a report examining the diversity of the social investment sector in the UK.
