Pride in London is the UK’s largest and most diverse LGBTQ+ event, organised by a volunteer-powered Community Interest Company. Its fundamental role is built on the core values of Visibility, Unity, and Equality.
Our annual Parade acts as both a celebration and a political protest, raising awareness of ongoing LGBTQ+ issues and advocating for equal rights and freedoms.
By convening partners, engaging communities, and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, the organisation creates a continuous cycle of visibility and action. This year-round calendar demonstrates Pride in London’s commitment to sustaining momentum across multiple platforms, ensuring that advocacy, celebration, and creativity remain at the heart of the organisation’s mission.
Pride in London is delivered by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBTQ+ communities and improve the event.
Now’s your opportunity to play a meaningful part as the new Chair of Pride in London. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the whole of Pride in London, ensuring that individual teams have the resources, oversight and support that they need to have the biggest possible impact.
You’ll understand how to facilitate high performance in this busy context, helping us keep on task and make good decisions. A key part of the role will be securing and maintaining the trust and commitment of key funders and stakeholders, so that we can be confident about the future sustainability of the event, and helping us to be the best organisation we can be.
You’ll be an experienced, well-connected and strategic chair who who understands the nuances of what good governance looks like in a comparable organisation, and will quickly get to grips with the essential principles of how we work. Skilled at stakeholder management, supporting an executive team and overseeing transformation, you’ll also bring financial rigour, an entrepreneurial style, and the ability to plan for the long term.
