Sirona Care & Health, founded in 2011, is a community interest company that provides publicly funded community healthcare services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
As the sole provider of NHS community services in the region, Sirona delivers care for both children and adults, supporting people in their homes, schools and local communities. The organisation offers a broad range of services, including community nursing, therapy, children’s health services, urgent care, mental health services for people with learning disabilities, and end-of-life care, with a strong focus on keeping people independent and reducing avoidable hospital admissions.
Sirona plays a central role in the local health and care system, serving a population of nearly one million people and employing over 3,500 staff, with an annual turnover of approximately £225m. As a values-led social enterprise, Sirona reinvests any surplus back into services, working closely with NHS partners and local authorities to deliver integrated, patient-centred care and maintain its position as a key community healthcare provider in the region.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a critical executive appointment and will play a central role in helping Sirona achieve its strategic ambition of “Improved Outcomes for All.” Our new CMO will also be central to developing the overall medical strategy for Sirona, working closely with voluntary, community and third sector organisations as we continue the move towards preventative and proactive medicine. External influencing and networking will be an important aspect of the role, helping to maintain strong, mutually credible and trusting alliances with our partners. We’ll also look to you to work collaboratively to generate or secure opportunities for research.
Candidates will be credible, experienced and inspirational senior clinical leaders, with a consistent track record of improving outcomes and addressing health inequalities. It’s essential that you can demonstrate the ability to lead across organisation and system boundaries. Sophisticated strategic insight will be combined with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, and you will hold a strong personal commitment to Sirona’s values and culture.
