Mind is changing. Their driving purpose is to ensure that every person who is experiencing a mental health problem across England and Wales gets the support and respect they deserve. With unprecedented challenges facing communities across the UK, the prevalence of mild to moderate mental health conditions is increasing. Tragically, many people with serious mental illness aren’t getting the help they need.
Mind is advocating for transformation in policy, healthcare and communities so that everyone has the chance to live a mentally healthy life. And because the world never stays still, they’re taking brave – and sometimes difficult – decisions to ensure that they’ll be able to continue playing their part in the mental health emergency.
They have created this new role as a statement of ambition, of confidence, and of optimism. Mind’s new structure is all about streamlining the organisation to maximise impact and outcomes, and this is no exception. They’ve changed their focus to building the healthiest possible funding ecology, with fundraising, retail, and commercial income all flowing into a balanced and sustainable system. In a nutshell, that’s what this job will achieve.
It’s exciting, and it’s ground-breaking, and it’s going to be the making of someone’s career. We want to meet people whose vision and experience are commensurate with the scale of the plan. You’ll be an outstanding fundraising professional, with a reputation in the sector for regularly setting new benchmarks, and having ideas others wish they’d had. You may or may not also have overseen retail in your career to date, but either way you’ll relish the chance to learn the ropes from some of the best in the business, and – together – to forge a new model that not only generates funds, but also delivers services and achieves impact in communities.
