We’re delighted to have supported the Anti-Racism Observatory for Scotland (AROS) with the appointment of Benaifer Bhandari and Jonathan Williams as their inaugural Co-Chief Executives.
Hosted by the University of Strathclyde in partnership with the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) and funded by the Scottish Government, AROS has been established to challenge structural and systemic racism in Scotland’s public institutions.
Benaifer Bhandari, former Chief Executive of Hopscotch Women’s Centre, brings over 25 years of leadership and advocacy experience in racial and gender equity. Jonathan Williams, who holds a Doctorate in Race and Education, has led and advised major equity initiatives across local government, higher education and civic institutions.
Their combined expertise will guide AROS as it builds Scotland’s national infrastructure for anti-racist policy and practice.
Congratulations to Benaifer, Jonathan and all at AROS on these landmark appointments.
