Job description

Charity Digital is a sector-leading non-profit organisation dedicated to leveraging technology for social good. Established in 2001 to help UK charities accelerate their missions using digital, we provide UK charities with information and education on digital trends, inspiration on how other charities have used digital, and access to the best not-for-profit technology deals. We also run an educational content platform and the UK's only technology donation programme. Since we opened our doors over twenty years ago we’ve helped over 77,000 charities save almost £284m, and over 1 million charity professionals have accessed our content and advice services.

We’re looking for a new Chief Executive to build on the achievements of recent years and lead us into our next phase of growth and impact. Our business model is well-diversified and robust; but our operating environment has always been one of rapid change, and we believe there are significant emerging opportunities for which we are excellently placed. We’ll look to our new CEO to identify and implement innovative new workstreams, both commercial and charitable, which advance our mission and enhance our reputation. You’ll also lead our small, expert team and ensure that we maintain and expand our highly influential voice in policy development and regulation.

Candidates will be effective and inspiring leaders, with a track record of sustained high performance and bringing (or scaling) new propositions to market. A close and current familiarity with how charities procure services such as digital will be important. Entrepreneurial and instinctively commercial, you’ll be able to consolidate and extend our highly successful trading activity – such as advertising, sponsorship, events and more – as well as securing the resources to deliver our vital capacity-building work for charities. You’ll bring a comprehensive knowledge of, and inexhaustible interest in, the potential for digital to transform charities. The best candidates will be set apart by energy, optimism and a real passion for collaboration to get the job done.

At Charity Digital, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. We actively encourage candidates from underrepresented backgrounds, including women, people of colour, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities, to apply.
