Job description
Baobab Foundation is a disruptive force for positive change in UK philanthropy, shaped by the Black struggle and courage. Their aim is to significantly scale resourcing to Black and Global majority communities, contributing to wealth redistribution, equitable access, solidarity and sustainability. And they centre disability justice, so that no one is left behind on the journey to freedom, justice and unity.
Spurred on by a series of traumatic events including the murder of George Floyd, Baobab have rapidly developed a unique structure, rich networks of support and influence, and a clear vision of lasting system change. In just three years they've mobilised significant resources from UK trusts, foundations and private businesses to challenge and heal ongoing experiences of underfunding, marginalisation and anti-Blackness.
Baobab is a movement, not a moment.
They want to welcome someone who can lead Baobab’s ethical resource mobilisation, from community level to major donors, corporates and HNW individuals, creating and sustaining exceptional relationships of hope. You will have an impressive track record of success in a comparable role, and won’t be fazed by their seven-figure ambitions.
Your own experience will have convinced you of the need for Baobab's singular vision, and you’ll bring enough optimism, resilience and joy to change the world, one idea at a time. Respected by your professional peers as an ethical innovator, with high levels of emotional intelligence and a hunger to do things differently, you’ll plant the seeds of change which will radically transform the funding ecosystem.
